400 V8, MUNCIE 4-SPEED, PWR BRAKES/STEER, SAME FAMILY OWNED SINCE 1983, RESTORED

The Pontiac Tempest Custom was truly on the wide track for 1964, and today that makes them one cool cruiser. So when you can find a convertible with the right colors, a power top, four-on-the-floor, and upgraded V8 power - all offered at such a nice price - you're looking at a deal that's always in style.

The Tempest got all-new styling in 1964. It really showed off the famous Wide-Track theme by giving it two wide grilles and headlights pushed all the way out into the fender line. And the way the chrome bumper rises in the middle to meet the power bulge of the hood really shows off some sporty style. It's no wonder this is the face that started the muscle car craze.
And when they hear this one growl, you might even hear some people whisper GTO (more on that in a moment.) This car has a very cool history of being in the same family for nearly 40 years. The father bought it in 1983 and made some big restoration investments, including a full repaint. The son has kept up that tradition of quality care. That's why the panels fit so well all these decades later. There are even nice cruiser details like the half chrome headlights and Dayton wire wheels. You may decide to update the ... Description

You may decide to update the paint, top, or other pieces as you see fit. But as you look at the full package, you soon realize that this is a value price that lets you budget for any updates and personalization you may want to do in the future.

The full red interior is another great classic Pontiac touch. It was redone during the father's ownership, and the son states it was part of a professional upgrade using the correct Pontiac vinyl. It has a detailed look with deeper red inserts in the seats, plush carpeting, red Pontiac floor mats, and a coordinating convertible boot. There are even cool details, like the classic tissue box and working Delco AM radio. And while this looks like a time capsule classic, the Hurst floor shifter and added Sun Tach on the steering column should get you ready for something special under the hood.

Pontiac fans know 1964 because it's the year that launched the GTO, but even that muscle car granddaddy didn't get something as hot as this. The 400 cubic-inch V8 was a few years away when this Tempest was born, but today it gets that mighty Pontiac motor. This is a true GTO powerhouse, and it was rebuilt about 15k miles ago. This also has a newer gas tank with sending unit, steel braided coolant hoses, and a rebuilt 850 CFM GM four-barrel carburetor. So you have a strong running and stout V8. More than just a hot motor, this is a full package upgrade. That means the control of a close-ratio Muncie M21 four-speed manual transmission, and this feeds a 3.55 Positraction rear end. And speaking of the rear, you also have boxed arms and a sway bar, just like a proper muscle car. Plus, power steering, power brakes, and a modern tread behind the classic whitewall tires give you a solid all-around driver.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, service manuals, and restoration pictures. When an interesting and well-presented classic like this is also so affordable, you know you need to hurry to grab this deal. Call today!!!
