When you think of the 1950s, this is the exact kind of car that comes to mind. Elegant, ornate, and with plenty of chrome, this 1956 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan can be your time capsule.
This appears to be finished in an era-correct Bermuda Blue and Colonial White. It sets the tone right for a car that wants to be absolutely vintage, and at the same time, has the right driver-ready finish that looks like it always wants to hit the road. Having a two-tone '56 Ford is terrific because these had a sweeping chrome trim dividing line for these colors. It's truly a full-length treatment extending from the headlight all the way back to the tail. And we love that artful dip in the door. That's why it's great to find such a complete example like this one. The total effect of all this chrome gives this two-door the lower and longer feel that everyone in Detroit wanted back in the day. The jet-inspired touches are seen everywhere from the hood ornament to the afterburner tail lights, and the overall classic details go right down to the factory-style hubcaps and whitewalls. So this really loves to put its vintage flair on full display.

The turquoise and white interior is well coordinated with the exterior two-tone. There are more nice details, like contrast piping on the seats and a button-top presentation. Good carpeting, a nice headliner, and two-tone door panels are all part of this attractive style. In fact, this has a time machine kind of quality, right down to the working dome light and AM radio that's still there for display. There are specific elements to a '56 Ford you don't find elsewhere, like the padded dash and recessed gauge package. These are joined by the factory steering wheel with the Ford family crest. And the full presentation is all designed to give you that nostalgic cruiser feeling.
The Thunderbird badging on the front fender is no accident. Pop the hood and you'll find a quite tidy 292 cubic-inch Y-block V8 motor. That was an optional powerplant that carried the Thunderbird name and was borrowed from Ford's personal cruiser. It makes for the kind of torque-filled powerhouse you want on a two-tone cruising classic. The motor fires up readily, and it makes a good V8 tune out of the glasspack style dual exhaust. You even have an automatic transmission and a modern tread behind those classic whitewalls.
When an affordable two-tone classic like this is presented to be a solid vintage driver, you know your nostalgia won't let this one get away. Call today!!!
