SHARP CHROME BUMPER MGB, 1.8L 4 CYL, 4 SPD MANUAL, FRT DISC BRKS, FUN DROP TOP!

There aren't many better ways to get into a British roadster than this 1974 MGB convertible. Classic good looks in a car that doesn't cost a fortune to acquire or maintain; it's the ideal vintage drop-top for the purist who prefers to take the long way home.

It's easy to see why these cars are so popular. The sleek European lines with just the right amount of chrome give an MGB like this one a confidently regal appearance. 1974 was a short model year right before an update during the latter half that traded in the chrome grille and chrome rear bumpers for black plastic units. So this car was truly the last chance at classic British style. This distinction means these MkIII and earlier MGBs are worth investing a little more to buy because they also hold this extra value. So you may want to get a new vinyl top (the frame is good) or a few extra beauty rings for the wheels - but those are easily sourced and the value price should leave plenty of room in your budget. Of course, another great pillar of value in a classic drop-top is having the right paint. The maroon has the appeal of red with just a touch of nobility. It benefits from a later professional respray that gives this ... Please ask for the full description.

It benefits from a later professional respray that gives this driver-ready MG a fine luster when you're out on sunny days.

The back interior is particularly nice for those who love a true classic. It looks highly original, including the little things, like the working dash light and classic AM/FM radio. In fact, the largest upgrade we can spot is the Grant GT sports steering wheels. It reminds us that an MG is also a terrific driver's environment. The space between the three-spoke wheel and the stick shift is exceptionally close for comfortable and quick performance. The driver gets a full set of Smiths gauges with a large speedometer and tachometer, as well as dials for other vitals such as oil, fuel, and water.

What makes these cars legendary is their feeling on the road. The 1.8-liter motor is rev happy, especially with nice upgrades like a Pierce intake, updated carburetor, and a FlameThrower ignition. What really helps keep this engine stay in its sweet spot of the powerband the best is the control offered by the four-speed manual transmission. Plus, nimble handling, front disc brakes, and modern touring tires make for the kind of car that will make you look for the back roads everywhere you go.

The sale comes complete with a nice history file, service manuals, spare components, and even another chrome bumper. This is a well-presented version of a significant-year MGB, and so at a price like this, the deal is irresistible. Call today!!!
